TREASURERANNUAL REPORT 2011-2012Adrian TophamTreasurerand Loss Statement and even Balance Sheet is somewhatmisleading. The vast majority of the funds in our accountsare held in trust or are designated for charitable purposes.Only a tiny fraction of our total annual income and outgo can rather than reviewing performance as a whole, it is far morepertinent to discuss the results of the various funds that makeup the club’s operations. This is done below, with a summary following.administration is run. For the 11 months of the 2011/12 Rotarya budgeted year to date surplus of THB 86. The shortfall is dueto lower member fees because of lower member numbers,an extra month’s salary from the overlap when Khun Prakairetired, and various expense overruns, mostly to do with the90 versus budgeted surplus of THB 14. Fortunately, this canbe covered from spare funds – but only just. Our operatingexpenses are essentially fully covered by dues in a normal The Fellowship Account, through which we run social functionsand fund expenses for visiting Rotarians and public relations,reported a surplus of THB 10 for the year.The Reserve Account, which is a fund held for emergenciesand extraordinary expenses, and is supplemented by newused to cover expenses associated with Khun Prakai’sretirement, our 50th anniversary celebrations and HistoryThe Luang Sit Fund accounts showed a surplus of THB 110,but this was mostly due to Luang Sit Fellowships paid inadvance. Donations (THB 6) boosted the Fund to THB 2.27million. Scholarships for 114 students were funded by LuangSit Fellowships and Fund interest (annual and accumulated).earnings and the annual donation to the home. The latter isTHB 120 p.a., funded from interest earnings and by utilizationof the fund principal. With a balance of THB 1.889 million, nearly 20 years.Charity Funds (including The Rotary Foundation MatchingGrants, Paul Harris Fellowships and sundry accounts/funds)started the year with THB 4,413, of which THB 3,775 wasprojects and will be disbursed in coming months. The level offunds in these accounts can vary greatly from year to year andmonth to month depending upon receipt of, say, MatchingGrant monies, which tend to come and go in large lumps. Ofthe THB 5,116 committed, THB 1,245 is for Matching Grants,another THB 1,348 is for Flood Rehabilitation purposes,and another THB 1,652 is for water projects underway.
