For the medium to large sized rivers, the 82 portfolio examples having dams on their size 2-4mainstems were fragmented by 272 mainstem dams. 23 examples had dams over 50ft. high (32dams) and 63 examples had dams between 15 and 50 feet (153 dams). The most frequent type ofmainstem dam was a hydro dam, with 39 examples have a hydro dam on them (138 dams). Othercommon types of dams include 24 examples with flood control dams (33 dams), 20 exampleswith water supply dams (28 dams), and 31 examples with recreational dams (41 dams). SeePortfolioOccurrences.txt or .xls for a column summarizing the number of dams on each portfolioexample.Table 31: Types and Sizes of Dams Across Portfolio Size 2-4 MainstemsNumber of Dams across the mainstems of size 2, 3, 4 Portfolio Rivers by EDU and TypeEcological Drainage Unit>15# NID Dams
