Yeovilton)T the end of 1964 we can lookA back 00 our best season yet, ooein which the hours flown and launchesachieved handsomely surpassed those ofprevious years.We started the season with a TI1 anOlympia 2B and Ray Foot's Skyiarkserviceable. In June we welcomed KeithHooper with his Olympia 2B to the<strong>Club</strong> and at last, in September, the T31was returned to us, modified and muchrenovated. The TII is having a majoroverhaul dwing the winter months andso 1965 should start with all our aircraftserviceable.On the ground our facilities have improvedas the season progressed. A Ford80Mike Livesay, Hon. Sec. of the Heron<strong>Club</strong>. who took five months from firstlaunch to Silver C.F-l00 pick-up, bought with the aid ofthe Nuffield Trust, has revitalised ourlaunch rate and is a good investment forany club whose airfield has runways.An obsolescent mobile Crewroom hasbeen most successfully converted to a<strong>Club</strong>room which is driven out to thelaunch point at the start of the day.On'! end forms the office and the otheris equipped for cooking, loafing and encouragingthe cooks.<strong>Club</strong> aircraft flew in the Junior Inter­Services Competition at Bicester and inthe Naval Competition at Dunkeswelf.In the latter competition, Dave Holding,our C.F.!., came second, flying Arbroath'sSkylark 2. Oave has since oeendrafted to Arbroath and Eddy Basham,ex·R.A.F., civilian, is our new C.F.I.Messrs. Neech, Fell, Fallon, Milneand Monkhouse have achieved their Aand B, Mackonochie, Neech, Arbuthnotand Carver soared for their Cs. RayFoot, it is rumoured, has actually appliedfor his Silver C this season, having flownall the legs again and a possible GoldHeight for good measure.
