1965 WORLD G,LIDINGCHAMPIONSHIPSHE provisional entry is 31 nationsT and 87 gJiders. The Standard Classis now closed at 47 entries. Someextremely interesting new gliders arecoming, including Zefir 3 from Poland,Havukka-Standard from Finland, StandardElfe from Switzerland, KAI-19from Russia, D-36 from Germany, ES-60Boomerang from Australia, HP-12 fromD.S.A. and our own Dart 17. If anyoneis interested in seeing what can be donein the field of refined design and highquaUtyaircraft engineering, they shouldcome to the Championships and inspectthis display of superb aircraft.The Organization is working itselfsteadily into top gear, one of the problemsbeing the very large number ofpeople wallting to visit the event. Inorder to cope with this influx, the followingarrangements have beell made:-HOTELs.-Anyone wanting hotel accommodationin the area during theChampionships period should write toTbos. Cook $I. Son Ltd., Berkeley Street,London, W.I.CAMPING.-There will be a field oppositethe main entrance to South Cerneyairfield where gliding people who arenot directly involved in the C1?aropio~shipscan camp. They must bnng th,elrown tents or caravans, but .washmgfacilities are available. There Will be asmall charge of £ I for a site fOT a caravan,lOs. for a tent site, and Ss. for asmall one-man tent site. These chargescover the period 28th May-14th June,with no reduction for short periods.There is a shop where food, etc., canbe bought, and light refreshments willbe available on the airfield.The Opening Ceremony will be onSaturday, 29th May and the ClosingCeremony on Sunday, 13th June. ThePrizegiving will be at 13.00 hrs., followedby the final banquet lunch for allcompetitors and helpers.
