Troubleshooting Heart RateThe following table may help you understand and troubleshooterratic heart rate readings.Important: A heart rate can only be detected when the Precorheart rate receiver is properly installed in the display. A user mustwear the chest strap or grasp both touch-sensitive grips.Table 2. If you areusing the touch-sensitive grips,continue to grasp both of them.Wait a few moments for yourheart rate to appear.Note: To conduct electrical impulses from a user’s heart, bothtouch-sensitive grips must be grasped firmly for five to ten seconds.Usually, the concentration of salts in a person’s perspirationprovides enough conductivity to transmit a signal to the receiver inthe display console.
