Treadmill Safety FeaturesBefore allowing users on Precor equipment, review the ImportantSafety Instructions found at the beginning of this manual. Youshould also teach your patrons how to safely use the equipmentfollowing the guidelines in Educating Users.Entering the Safety CodeWhen the equipment is shipped from the factory, the safety codeprotection feature is disabled. If you wish to enable the safetycode, refer to Club Features. Inform users that the equipmentrequests a safety code to help prevent unauthorized use. Whenusers select a program or press QUICKSTART at the PRECORbanner, the following prompt appears:ENTER SAFETY CODE TO UNLOCK MACHINEUsing the Safety ClipInstruct users how important it is to use the safety clip whileexercising on the treadmill. Instruct them on how to attach it to theirclothing near their waistline. If any complications occur, a strongtug on the safety lanyard will stop the running belt.If the safety switch trips while users are exercising, have themreattach the safety clip, press the SPEED up key or QUICKSTARTand reenter the safety code, if necessary.Note: The treadmill retains users’ workout statistics if they resumetheir workout within the limit set for pause mode.Users have two minutes to press the following number keysequence and continue their workout: 1, 2, 3, 4.Important: Tell users to hold onto the handrail with one handbefore entering the safety code with the other hand.If the correct keys are pressed, the program selection processbegins. If the code is incorrect, the display prompts the user toreenter the code after a 2-minute time out.Figure 4: Attaching the safety clipNote: On the treadmill, a 3-second countdown appears on thedisplay, and then the running belt starts moving.
