Top Drive TrainingTesco offers comprehensive training courses designed to introduce participants to our Top Drive systems. Each course,which orients Top Drive owners/operators to their specific system, includes a functional description of Top Drivesystem components, familiarization with the Top Drive and its principle components and an overview oftroubleshooting methods and fault detection.Top Drive Training: Level-1TESCO's level-1 training provides an introduction and orientation to your electric or hydraulic TESCO TopDrive system. <strong>The</strong>se courses <strong>are</strong> designed for personnel who operate, maintain, or troubleshoot a TESCO TopDrive drilling system.TESCO offers a unique Level I training course for each top drive model currently in production; each course isdescribed in more detail in Appendix 1 of <strong>this</strong> course catalog. All courses can be taught in either English orSpanish.General Course ContentParticipants in TESCO's level-1 training <strong>are</strong> introduced to all major sub-systems including mechanical,hydraulic and electric. Students learn to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematic drawingsand formulate troubleshooting strategies based on their knowledge of system design. Top Drive Training: Level 2TESCO's level 2 training provides an in-depth, introduction and orientation to your electric or hydraulicTESCO Top Drive system. <strong>The</strong>se courses <strong>are</strong> designed for personnel who operate, maintain, or troubleshoot aTESCO Top Drive drilling system.General Course ContentLevel 2 courses <strong>are</strong> customized to fit your specific needs. Casing Drive System TrainingTraining covering TESCO’s Casing Drive System familiarizes participants with our Casing Drive System and how itcan be used to optimize operations and eliminate non-productive time. <strong>The</strong> course includes a combination of theoreticaland practical applications designed to help students improve their skills in both operations and maintenance.Casing Drive System training familiarizes participants with TESCO's Casing Drive technology allowing operators totake advantage of top drive drilling to casing running operations including the ability to circulate, reciprocate and rotatesimultaneously, as desired.Training on TESCO’s Casing Drive System is compartmentalized into six modules. Operators <strong>are</strong> able to select theappropriate mix of modules in order to customize training to suit their needs and accommodate their schedules. Electric Compact Integrated 900/1350 CourseParticipants:APPENDIX 1: TOP DRIVE TRAINING<strong>The</strong> Electric Compact Integrated (ECI) course is designed for any personnel working with the ECI top drivesystem.Course Duration:Five (5) days.Course overview:<strong>The</strong> ECI course examines all components related to the Top Drive and power unit. <strong>The</strong> course will provideparticipants in-depth knowledge of the entire top drive system and capabilities of the ECI top drive.Course content: Load path components and their function in the top drive system Auxiliary hydraulic (robotics) system overview. Functions and troubleshooting suggestions <strong>are</strong>discussed and analyzed in depth MD 500 drive system, including detailed analysis each component of the MD 500. Hydraulic Top Drive Maintenance & OperationParticipants:This course is customized to meet customer demands for personnel who operate or maintain one or more TopDrive units from the TESCO Hydraulic Top Drive family, consisting of the Hydraulic Standard (HS), HydraulicCompact (HC), Hydraulic Compact Integrated (HCI), Hydraulic Miniature Integrated (HMI) and the HydraulicExtreme Integrated (HXI). <strong>The</strong> course is designed for any personnel working with any of the Tesco HydraulicTop Drive system.Course Duration:Five (5) daysCourse Overview:This customized course focuses on customers’ needs as the driving force in determining the specific content;however, all versions of the course will examine the components related to the Hydraulic Top Drive and powerunit. <strong>The</strong> course will provide participants in-depth knowledge of the entire top drive system and capabilities ofTESCO Hydraulic Top Drives. <strong>The</strong> course is lecture based but can be modified to include hands-on learning.Course content:Basic Load path components Identification and function in the top drive systemBasic Hydraulic theoryAuxiliary hydraulic (robotics) system overview, with particular emphasis on the reading andunderstanding hydraulic schematics. Casing Drive System: Accessories TrainingParticipants:<strong>The</strong> CDS Accessories course is designed for shop supervisors, shop technicians, field supervisors and any otherpersonnel that will perform casing drilling or casing running jobs.Course Duration:Three (3) daysCourse Overview:<strong>The</strong> CDS Accessories course familiarizes participants with the RTF Crimping Tool, Cushion Sub, Multi-LobeTorque Ring, Wear Bands, Wear Sleeves, Hydroform Centralizers and Casing Shoes. Course <strong>document</strong>ation is provided electronically.
