290 external agent companies, he 11 externalbrokerage companies, 5 leasing companiesand 45 private individuals acting as exclusiveagents for the company. Our company’s goalsand strategies have convinced more than 30external agent companies who have enteredinto contracts with us. After the merger the newKOMUNÁLNA poisťovňa, a.s. Vienna InsuranceGroup has terminated in effective contractswith 37 external agent companies. This stephad a positive impact on the overall performance.The co-operation is organised countrywidethrough a network of 7 business outlets set upin every regional city, with the exception of Trnava.Personnel and specialist support for theexternal companies was delivered by 10 brokeradvisers and 3 regional managers. In thefuture we are considering setting up even moreaccessible distribution of business outlets togetherwith related personnel development.Through external sales network we havegenerated premium income of €34.574 million,which is 11.09% less than previous year. Thisdecline in the new KOMUNÁLNA poisťovňa,a.s. Vienna Insurance Group was in direct correlationwith the reduction of contracts acquisitioncosts.Co-operation in banking-insurance segmentKOMUNÁLNA poisťovňa continued also in<strong>2009</strong> in existing co-operation with its bankingpartner DEXIA bank Slovakia. From as early as2003 the bank staff actively offer to their clientsthe insurance products in 47 bank branchesacross Slovakia. Co-operation and support forthe DEXIA bank Slovakia is provided by 38 regionalcompany representatives, who providequality advisory service for the bank’s advisers.The basic principles of the co-operation are thefeed-back from the bank’s clients, product trainingfor bank staff and specialisation of bothcompanies primarily on municipal sector.Among the most profitable belongs thepackage of banking and insurance productsfor cities and villages. KOMUNÁLNA poisťovňaand DEXIA bank Slovakia actively co-operatealso in joint projects organised by the Unionof Cities and Villages in Slovakia. Throughoutthe whole year we have recorded a number ofrequests for readjustments to insurance coveragefor these cities and villages, which he is aclear and positive signal of increased level ofknowledge among the representatives of citiesand villages in the area of property protection,as well as their social involvement in the developmentof the regions entrusted to them.5.3. Claims settlementNon-life insuranceMain goal in the claims settlement areawas the improvement of client service in alloperations related to the claims settlement.Emphasis was placed mainly on the reductionof time between the claim being reported andinspection, which has impacted the speed andquality of the claim settlement, limitation of thedamage scope and uncovering potential insurancefraud.Important aspect of the claim settlement isnon-stop 24-hour operation of the Central claimsregister, which allows the clients a speedyreporting of insurance claims on one telephonenumber - 0850/ 111 566, irrespective of theplace where the claim has incurred.Also in <strong>2009</strong> <strong>Komunálna</strong> poisťovňa, a.s.Vienna Insurance Group continued in provenclaim settlement via company Slovexperta,s.r.o. for motor vehicle claims. During the yearwe have focused on service quality improvementswith respect to the technical aspects ofthe claims settlement by extending and optimisingthe control mechanism.In an effort to ensure higher quality of deliveredservices in the area of property claimssettlement, we have performed all activities exclusivelyby our own employees.During <strong>2009</strong> in the area of claims settlementfor motor vehicle write-offs we have introducedfor our clients a new service of mediating/assistingwith the sale of damagedvehicles – wrecks, through electronic auctionAutoonline.Also this year, through the use of compulsoryinspections of used motor vehicles priorto entering into comprehensive insurance wehave increased the objectivity level in calculatingthe damage compensation amount for thesevehicles. This system significantly reducesfraud and speculation by the clients in claimingcompensation for damages incurred prior tothe insurance policy inception.Správa predstavenstva I Management Report49
