Growth trends of theinsurance market from the previous periodshave changed in 2009 into a declining trend,whereby during the year the overall insurancemarket has recorded a decline of approximately4 percent in comparison with 2008.Based on successful operations of insurancecompanies operating under VIG brandin Slovakia - KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa, KO­MUNÁLNA poisťovňa, Poisťovňa SLSP (includingKontinuita poisťovňa results until30.9.2009), VIG Slovensko achieved a leadingInsurance group position on the Slovak insurancemarket with 31.62% market share and topass the incumbent leader by 1.11 percentagepoint. This was due to the fact that VIG had outperformedthe market and improve its marketposition is also during a difficult time.Dear shareholders,our results are also an obligation todeliver performance expected of us, improvequality and profitability. During the year 2009we have succeeded in tackling difficult tasksand we have created a good foundation for thefuture. In 2009 KOMUNÁLNA poisťovňa hasparticipated in successful results of the ViennaInsurance Group and our goal for the future isto increase our market share, thereby contributingmore than the overall results of our Groupin Slovakia.Our business results will be delivered withthe support of all units of our company, our employeesand agents. This will be supported bythe management by correctly chosen strategyand permanent motivation and by employeesby involvement and customer care.
