MONTSERRATLABOUR CODE, <strong>2012</strong>No. 20 <strong>of</strong> <strong>2012</strong>(e) arrangements for the return travel <strong>of</strong> the prospectiveemployee; and(f) the prescribed fee.(2) A person who makes a false statement in an applicationfor a work permit or work permit renewal or in responseto any queries put to him or her in the course <strong>of</strong> aninvestigation during the work permit applicationprocess, commits an <strong>of</strong>fence and is liable on summaryconviction to a fine <strong>of</strong> $5,000.00.129. Rights <strong>of</strong> migrant worker(1) An employer shall inform a work permit holder, whererecruited from abroad, <strong>of</strong> his or her terms and conditions<strong>of</strong> employment, arrangements for accommodation andreturn travel to his or her home country or country <strong>of</strong>recruitment prior to his or her arrival in <strong>Montserrat</strong>.(2) An employer shall not compel a work permit holder tolive with his or her employer.(3) An employer shall not compel a work permit holder,who is employed as a domestic worker, to remain in thehousehold <strong>of</strong> his or her employer during periods <strong>of</strong>weekly rest and holidays.(4) An employer shall not keep a work permit holder’stravel and identity documents in his or her possession.130. Penalty applicable to employersAn employer who contravenes this Part commits an<strong>of</strong>fence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine <strong>of</strong>$5,000.00.131. Revocation <strong>of</strong> work permitA work permit may be revoked by the Governor actingon the advice <strong>of</strong> the Cabinet.82
