GOAL 4GOAL 5Increase the efficiency and effectiveness with which USDA manages andexercises stewardship over natural resources.· Evaluate Natural Resources Conservation Service’s (NRCS) oversight <strong>of</strong>its conservation programs to ensure that the conservation practices andpurposes are met.· Investigate allegations <strong>of</strong> significant criminal activity in programsinvolving the management and stewardship <strong>of</strong> natural resources.Strive for a highly qualified, diverse workforce that has the tools and trainingnecessary to enhance OIG’s ability to fulfill its mission and communicate itsaccomplishments.· Meet statutory dates for Freedom <strong>of</strong> Information Act (FOIA) appeals.· Improve performance <strong>of</strong> IT’s help desk initial response and resolution.· Continuously monitor the OIG network and issue formal IT securitybriefing to the OIG Chief Information <strong>Office</strong>r.· Issue legal opinions within 30 calendar days <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> request, orother agreed-to dates.· Develop a Diversity Strategic Plan to strengthen OIG’s climate <strong>of</strong>diversity and inclusion and to further its proactive efforts at preventingworkplace discrimination.
