other member presiding and the village adjudication adviser.(8) the village adjudication adviser shall be the executive officer for the village adjudicationcommittee and shall keep the records of the committee.(9) The village adjudication committee shall in the exercise of any of its powers under thissection which involve a hearing comply with the rules of natural justice and, subject to thatduty, may–(a)(b)(c)(d)hear evidence which would not be admissible in a court of law;call evidence of its own motion;use evidence contained in any official record or adduced in any other claim; andgenerally, determine its own procedures.(10) A village adjudication committee shall have jurisdiction over all claims made during thecourse of a village adjudication process and for this purpose and in order to discharge thefunctions referred to in subsection (3), the chairman of that committee shall be legallycompetent to administer oaths and to issue summonses, notices and orders requiring theattendance of any persons and the production of any documents which he may considernecessary for the carrying out of the village adjudication.54. Procedures for village adjudication(1) The chairman of a village adjudication committee shall be responsible for ensuring thatthe procedures set out in this section and any other procedures that may be prescribed arecomplied with.(2) Where village adjudication is to be applied to village land or a portion of that land, anotice shall be published and posted in a prominent place in the village and on the land whichis to be adjudicated–(a)(b)(c)specifying the approximate area of land to be adjudicated (the adjudication area);requiring all persons who claim any interest in the land to attend a meeting of thevillage adjudication committee at a specified time and put forward their claims;requiring any person who claims to occupy land within the adjudication area to markor indicate the boundaries of the land in the manner and before the date which maybe specified by the notice.(3) On the specified date, the village adjudication committee shall hear and determine allclaims made under paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection (2).(4) The village adjudication committee may adjourn any hearing into any claim and direct
