His lips moved ; <strong>the</strong>n hestopped, as if listening and ; again his lips moved, as if inreply at ; last, by a visible effort, as if cutting short a conversation with a beloved friend, he consumed <strong>the</strong> SacredSpecies.When <strong>the</strong> Blessed Sacrament was exposed, he gazedupon it with such an ecstatic smile, that a bro<strong>the</strong>r priest,who once caught <strong>the</strong> expression <strong>of</strong> his countenance whenthus in adoration, instinctively turned towards <strong>the</strong> tabernacle, as if expecting to see something.
