It introduced the first iron main inLondon in 1746. The company held water in reservoirsin Hyde Park and Green Park and pumped waterthrough an elaborate sysstems of canals which covereda large area of today's Pimlico. As the years marchedby the water was becoming more and morecontaminated and the Company installed the first Sandfiltration operation to purify the water.
