Berth:The berth is a concrete wall <strong>quay</strong>. Ship's f<strong>en</strong>ders are required.North-west of the berth is a turning basin where vessels up to 200 meters can be swung.Usually the vessel is moored along port side unless other instructions giv<strong>en</strong> by the terminalmanager.CARGO GEAR:Unloading cargo is done by plants pneumatic unit. Delivery is possible by truck or barge.WASTE DISPOSAL:In accordance with the Directive 2000/59/EC on port reception facilities for ship-g<strong>en</strong>erated wasteand cargo residues (see also objective Marpol 73/78, being the protection of the marine<strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>t) and in accordance with the Flemish legislation, decree of 2nd of July 1981concerning waste prev<strong>en</strong>tion and managem<strong>en</strong>t, VLAREA, and the authorization giv<strong>en</strong> by OVAMto the zeesluis Wintam to operate as an approved waste collector, vessels can delivershipg<strong>en</strong>erated waste restricted to Marpol annex V (i.e. domestic waste).Each sea-going vessel bound for a port facility on the <strong>Zeekanaal</strong> Brussel-Schelde, calling at thezeesluis Wintam, must contribute to the cost for the collection and processing of ship-g<strong>en</strong>eratedwaste, irrespective of the actual use of the port reception facility.Vessels bound for the port of Brussel have the possibility to deliver shipg<strong>en</strong>erated waste andcargo residues in Brussel.SLOPS DISPOSAL:To be arranged via shipping ag<strong>en</strong>t.RAILWAY CONNECTION:Available.
