Reg. ______, effective ____________)Section 120.20 MANG(AABD) Income Standarda)The monthly countable income standard is 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Level IncomeGuidelines, as published annu<strong>all</strong>y in the Federal Register, for the appropriate family size.b) A client receiving care in a public tuberculosis hospital is not considered to bereceiving long term care. Such a client's financial eligibility for MANG isdetermined by use of the Aid to the Aged, Blind or Disabled MANG(AABD)Income Standard.c) The MANG(AABD) Income Standard is used in the determination of financialeligibility for MANG of a client living in a residential home or facility which isnot licensed as a medical care facility or as a sheltered care facility. The cost ofmaintenance and/or care in such a facility is not an <strong>all</strong>owable medical expense.Regardless of the amount the client may be paying for care and/or maintenance inthe facility, the client's nonexempt income and assets in excess of theMANG(AABD) Standard are considered available for payment for medical carenot provided in the facility.d) MANG1) A recipient residing in a Department of Human Services (DHS) Statepsychiatric hospital or developmental center is <strong>all</strong>owed $30 per month inlieu of any other MANG standard.2) As soon as MANG(AABD) clients become residents of a DHS facility(see subsection (d)(1) of this Section), a skilled nursing facility, anintermediate care facility, or other facility, their eligibility for MANG isdetermined separately from persons remaining in the home.3) When eligibility is based on being temporarily discharged from a DHSfacility (see subsection (d)(1) of this Section) for the purpose of obtainingmedical care in a general hospital, the amount which the recipient isobligated to pay DHS for care and maintenance is to be <strong>all</strong>owed inaddition to the $30.
