The build<strong>in</strong>g envelope features several types <strong>of</strong> build<strong>in</strong>g constructions, as shown <strong>in</strong> Table 6. Thelight colored panels on <strong>the</strong> south façade reflect much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> solar radiation that might o<strong>the</strong>rwiseadd to <strong>the</strong> cool<strong>in</strong>g requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> build<strong>in</strong>g. The atrium has glaz<strong>in</strong>g on both façades and <strong>the</strong>ro<strong>of</strong> section. There is a raised floor with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> occupied space that conta<strong>in</strong>s all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> electricalconduit and network<strong>in</strong>g equipment. The ceil<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> each occupied space has a concrete s<strong>of</strong>fit thatserves several purposes. The concrete ceil<strong>in</strong>g is a concave ellipse that not only acts as <strong>the</strong>rmalmass temper<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal temperatures, but also was designed to provide <strong>in</strong>direct light<strong>in</strong>g andto reduce noise due to its shape. The shape also was designed to direct airflow through <strong>the</strong>occupied space toward <strong>the</strong> atrium. Descriptions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> build<strong>in</strong>g constructions and <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>in</strong>sulationproperties are presented <strong>in</strong> Table 6 and Table 7 respectively.Figure 11.
