simulations are able to do would allow fur<strong>the</strong>r analysis <strong>of</strong> detailed flow patterns with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> zone.Better controll<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> media used to trace <strong>the</strong> fluid patterns would be <strong>of</strong> great help. There is much research yet to complete <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> passive ventilation techniques, particularly<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> model<strong>in</strong>g airflow and temperature distribution <strong>in</strong> build<strong>in</strong>gs. Through a comb<strong>in</strong>edapproach, us<strong>in</strong>g field measurements, model<strong>in</strong>g ef<strong>for</strong>ts, and simulation techniques, tools can beenhanced <strong>in</strong> order to better predict <strong>the</strong> per<strong>for</strong>mance <strong>of</strong> build<strong>in</strong>gs, while ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g com<strong>for</strong>tconditions and reduc<strong>in</strong>g energy consumption and life cycle cost.166
