A Learning CentreAt Edgbarrow, learning and teaching are our highest priority. All students are given the opportunity toachieve their potential within a vibrant and purposeful environment. As a comprehensive school wehave a track record of success, with our students excelling academically.Our curriculum is carefully planned and monitored to offer both variety and academic rigour. Themajority of our students will progress into our Sixth Form to complete A Levels. Working inpartnership with parents and students, we are able to personalise the curriculum to offer a widerange of opportunities in order to meet the needs of individuals.There are three guiding principles for learning within the school. Every student is entitled to progressin their learning, be active in their learning and be clear on how to succeed. In the classroom thisis achieved by engaging students, promoting independent learning and providing regular feedback.Students will also be encouraged to reflect upon their own learning.As we embed the use of technology in our teaching we are able to provide a challenging andinnovative learning experience that students enjoy. Specialist teachers and ICT facilities are available inall classrooms to both engage and motivate students in their learning. As a school this is also achievedthrough recognising the skills and celebrating the success of our students.We aim to provide and equip students with the skills and attributes needed to be successful beyondschool.
