2.8 German as a Foreign Language<br />

Classes in German as a foreign language are available on 5 different levels free<br />

of charge. The type and number of courses offered depends on <strong>the</strong> number of<br />

students required and wanting <strong>to</strong> take <strong>the</strong>m. Details are always posted on <strong>the</strong><br />

appropriate bulletin boards, which students are advised <strong>to</strong> check regularly.<br />

Information is also available on <strong>the</strong> HFU website.<br />

You can also take online German courses. The courses are free of charge (once<br />

you are enrolled at HFU) and you can learn at you own speed. You can also<br />

exchange opinions, problems or ideas, find partners for foreign language<br />

learning or just spend your free-time <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r. Have a look<br />

2.9 Tuition and Fees<br />

There is no tuition fee for Bachelor’s programs and most Master’s programs.<br />

Only <strong>the</strong> following Master‘s programs charge tuition fees:<br />

Business Consulting MSc 1,500€ per semester<br />

International Business Management/Executive MBA 4,500€ per semester<br />

International Business Management MBA 4,000€ per semester<br />

MBA Sales & Service Engineering 2,100€ per semester<br />

MBA Medical Devices and Healthcare Management 4,125€ per semester<br />

An administration fee of 40€ per semester is charged. Exchange students are<br />

normally exempt of this fee on <strong>the</strong> basis of <strong>the</strong> cooperation agreement.<br />

The contribution <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> social services (Studentenwerksbeitrag) is 37€ and<br />

has <strong>to</strong> be paid by all students.<br />

2.10 Library<br />

The library offers services <strong>to</strong> staff and students. Holdings include approximately<br />

65,000 volumes of books and CDs (17,000 in Schwenningen), 250 current<br />

journals (55 in Schwenningen), and nine daily newspapers. The opening hours<br />

during <strong>the</strong> semester are:<br />
