For more details, turn <strong>to</strong> page 6 for theGeneration <strong>Tariffs</strong> table.What return on my <strong>in</strong>vestment canI expect?<strong>Tariffs</strong> are set tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> consideration thetechnology costs and expected electricitygeneration, with an approximate rate ofreturn of between 5 percent and 8 percentfor well-sited <strong>in</strong>stallations.Will the tariff rates change?The tariffs are l<strong>in</strong>ked <strong>to</strong> Retail Prices Index (RPI)so will be updated on an annual basis.How will I get paid?You will receive your payment from npower bypersonal cheque or BAC’s payment, on receipt ofgeneration and export meter read<strong>in</strong>gs every quarter.Will I still be eligible for a centralgovernment grant?The Low Carbon Build<strong>in</strong>g Programme (LCPB)has now s<strong>to</strong>pped allocat<strong>in</strong>g grants <strong>to</strong> newmicrogeneration stations <strong>to</strong> encourage bus<strong>in</strong>esses<strong>to</strong> focus on the benefits of <strong>Feed</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Tariffs</strong>.Why do bus<strong>in</strong>esses that <strong>in</strong>stalledmicro generation technology before15 July 2009 not benefit from higher<strong>Feed</strong> <strong>in</strong> Tariff rates?This was a government decision. <strong>Feed</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Tariffs</strong> are<strong>in</strong>tended <strong>to</strong> stimulate the market beyond its currentlevel. Many <strong>in</strong>stallations prior <strong>to</strong> July 2009 will alsohave benefited from LCBP grants.What equipment will I need?As well as your microgeneration technology, you willalso need a generation meter and – if your exportability is greater than 30kW – an export meter.What do I need <strong>to</strong> do with meter read<strong>in</strong>gs?We will ask for meter read<strong>in</strong>gs from your generationmeter each quarter. This will enable us <strong>to</strong> processyour payment. If we do not receive your meterread<strong>in</strong>gs, your payment will be delayed.Am I eligible <strong>to</strong> jo<strong>in</strong> the npower FIT scheme?Firstly, you must be an npower cus<strong>to</strong>mer on anyimport tariff, or be supplied by a supplier no<strong>to</strong>ffer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Feed</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Tariffs</strong>, or be off the national grid.Secondly, your new <strong>in</strong>stallation must have therelevant accreditation accord<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> its size and dateof <strong>in</strong>stallation. Please see the diagram on page 7 formore details.Your supply meter may not be compatible for<strong>Feed</strong> <strong>in</strong> Tariff technology. At the beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of theregistration process we will check your meter detailsfor compatibility, if your meter is not compatiblewe will contact you <strong>to</strong> arrange a meter exchange.Please note if your meter is not compatible a meterexchange must be completed <strong>in</strong> order for your <strong>Feed</strong>In Tariff registration <strong>to</strong> progress. Please note this willnot affect your eligibility date.What are the next steps?1. Complete the relevant FIT application form.2. Appo<strong>in</strong>t npower as your FIT payer.3.
