Applicati<strong>on</strong>s received after thedeadlineApplicati<strong>on</strong>s received after the deadline willbe treated as late applicati<strong>on</strong>s, but will bec<strong>on</strong>sidered if submitted by 1 September 2013.Entry RequirementsFor entry in<strong>to</strong> the Sixth Form boys musthave achieved a <strong>to</strong>tal of at least 50 points(A*=8, A=7, B=6 etc) from 8 GCSE subjects<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> at least a grade C at GCSE inMathematics <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> English Language. Inadditi<strong>on</strong>, it is expected that prospectiveentrants will have obtained a grade B, orbetter, in the subjects <strong>to</strong> be studied in theSixth Form. Two excepti<strong>on</strong>s <strong>to</strong> this are that agrade A is required <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> studying Mathematics<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a student who wishes <strong>to</strong> studyBiology, Chemistry or Physics <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> has notstudied separate sciences, then A grades arerequired in both Science <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Additi<strong>on</strong>alScience.Special Educati<strong>on</strong>al NeedsAny student with special educati<strong>on</strong>al needsor a disability, who is applying <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a place atthe <strong>School</strong>, should write <strong>to</strong> the SpecialEducati<strong>on</strong>al Needs Coordina<strong>to</strong>r so that the<strong>School</strong> can assess his applicati<strong>on</strong>appropriately.Fraudulent Applicati<strong>on</strong>sAny in<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mati<strong>on</strong> that is subsequently proven<strong>to</strong> be inaccurate will potentially invalidatethat applicati<strong>on</strong>.Provisi<strong>on</strong>al OffersProvisi<strong>on</strong>al offers, if appropriate, will bemade no earlier than 15 February 2013 <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>,<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> applicati<strong>on</strong>s received after this date,resp<strong>on</strong>ses will be made within two weeks ofreceipt of the predicted GCSE grades.Oversubscripti<strong>on</strong> CriteriaIf there are more applicants than placesavailable, preference will be given <strong>to</strong> childrenin care. Every ef<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>t will be made <strong>to</strong>accommodate students who meet the entryrequirements <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a place in Year 12, butapplicants should appreciate that somesubjects may become full in which case wewill operate a waiting list. This will be mostrelevant <strong>to</strong> applicati<strong>on</strong>s received after 1February 2013. Applicants will be ranked <strong>on</strong>this list according <strong>to</strong> their predicted pointsscore.Offer dateOffers of places will be c<strong>on</strong>firmed as so<strong>on</strong> asappropriate GCSE results are c<strong>on</strong>firmed.Waiting listsApplicants <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> day places, meeting the entryrequirements but living outside thedesignated area, will be placed <strong>on</strong> a waitinglist <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> will be offered places <strong>on</strong> a r<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>ombasis if places exist <strong>on</strong> 1 September 2013.Boarding Regulati<strong>on</strong>sBoarders must have suitable accommodati<strong>on</strong>outside <strong>School</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> the weekends. This maybe provided by the family, friends or aguardian. Reading <strong>School</strong> regrets that it isunable <strong>to</strong> assist in finding a guardian.Passport RequirementsAll students must be entitled <strong>to</strong> hold a fullBritish Citizen passport, be a nati<strong>on</strong>al of theEuropean Ec<strong>on</strong>omic Area or have the right ofresidence in the United Kingdom. Theholding of a British Overseas or BritishDependent Terri<strong>to</strong>ries passport does notmake a child eligible <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a State Boarding<strong>School</strong> educati<strong>on</strong>, neither does a temporarystudent visa.In Year Admissi<strong>on</strong>Applicati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a placeApplicati<strong>on</strong>s must be made <strong>to</strong> Reading <strong>School</strong>.There is no set timetable <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> in-yearadmissi<strong>on</strong>s.
