The <strong>for</strong>m is available fromthe school or Reading Borough Council. The<strong>for</strong>m must be returned to the school by 24September 2012.Entrance TestsThe entrance tests will be taken at KendrickSchool on Monday 1 October 2012.There will be two tests each of lengthapproximately one hour.They will cover:i) Verbal Reasoningii) Non-Verbal ReasoningNo past papers are available but similarpapers can be purchased from reputablestationers such as W.H. Smith. Currentlythese are “11+ Practice” (st<strong>and</strong>ard version)published by Letts.The result of the entrance test will beposted to <strong>parents</strong>/<strong>carers</strong> on Monday 22October 2012. This will be in the <strong>for</strong>m of theoverall score. (ie the mean of thest<strong>and</strong>ardised score <strong>for</strong> the two tests)Parents/<strong>carers</strong> are advised to use thisin<strong>for</strong>mation as guidance to the suitability oftheir daughter <strong>for</strong> a Grammar School place<strong>and</strong> an indication of the likelihood of beingoffered a place. The results do notguarantee an offer of a place.Applications received after the deadlineApplications received after the deadline will betreated as late applications. However,applications that are received late <strong>for</strong> a goodreason may be considered if received be<strong>for</strong>e 6January 2013. Such a case might, <strong>for</strong> example, beif illness prevented a single parent/carer fromreturning the <strong>for</strong>m on time, in whichcircumstances the reason <strong>for</strong> lateness should besupported in writing by a medical professionalinvolved in the case.
