HOW TO APPLY FOR A SECONDARYSCHOOL PLACEAPPLY ONLINE• It is simple <strong>and</strong> convenient• You can change your preferences at any time until the closing date -31 October 2012• You will receive an email to confirm your application has been submitted• You will be able to print a copy of your completed <strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> your records• You will receive an email on the morning of 1 March 2013 in<strong>for</strong>ming youwhich school has been allocated to your child. You will be able to accessyour application <strong>for</strong> further in<strong>for</strong>mation.Reading residents apply online atwww.reading.gov.uk/schooladmissions/Please apply to the LA where your childlives - only apply to RBC if your child’spermanent home is in Reading Borough.Please read carefully the notes supplied inthe application pack on how to apply. Thefollowing in<strong>for</strong>mation will also help you toapply online or complete the paperapplication <strong>for</strong>m. The application pack willhave a pre-printed application <strong>for</strong>m whichyou can complete or if you prefer you canapply online. The paper application <strong>for</strong>m willhave a pupil UID number printed on it.When you register online if you enter thisnumber your child's details will automaticallyenter into the online <strong>for</strong>m. Full details abouthow to apply online will be in theapplication pack or on the Reading BoroughCouncil’s website.Application <strong>for</strong>ms are available from anyReading primary school, the AdmissionsTeam at the Civic Centre or can bedownloaded from the website.Applications on a pre-printed <strong>for</strong>m, online orusing a blank <strong>for</strong>m are treated the same.Applications are not treated on a first comefirst served basis.1. Child’s detailsYou must provide your child’s legal surnamegiven on the birth certificate or if changedby Deed Poll.Where you live is very important <strong>and</strong> we willcheck addresses with data held by theCouncil Tax Department of Reading BoroughCouncil. The address you give on the <strong>for</strong>mMUST be your child’s single permanent home.See page 3 <strong>for</strong> further in<strong>for</strong>mation. If you givean incorrect address <strong>and</strong> we offer a place onthe basis of that address, then the offer ofthe place may be withdrawn.The Admission Authority reserves the rightto obtain additional in<strong>for</strong>mation to confirmaddresses.2. PreferencesYou can name up to four preferences.
