This may be the flour mill cited in the 1840s <strong>Mill</strong> Valuation book asbelonging to Adam Acres. A 16ft x 6ft 3in wheel drove three sets of stones (however,this valuation entry could refer to <strong>OFIAR</strong>-<strong>042</strong>-010). It was valued at £53.13s.3d - thesixth most valuable premises in the county. Vestiges of the mill survive as a random rubble wall along the tailraceat <strong>no</strong>rth end of existing complex. Remains have been incorporated into fish farmsupplied by the former pond and races. The adjoining former mill house, a doublepile/two-storey/three-baybuilding, has been refurbished as offices, but is <strong>no</strong>w disused.Waterworks, plant and machineryThe waterworks are <strong>no</strong>w used by the fish farm. The waterwheel is long gone but itspit survives at the NE end of the former mill. It is 1.98m (6ft 6in) wide and the fall ofwater was upwards of 4.57m (15ft).
