Points of interest
freiburg... the Black Forest metropolis, Freiburg,
invites you to wander around and do some shopping. You
can reach the centre in approx. 20 minutes with the train
from Kirchzarten. there are many historical buildings
with interesting stories, such as the freiburg Münster....
schauinslandbahn... travel with the cable car
up to the local mountain, schauinsland (1284m above sea
level). enjoy the wonderful view during the cable car ride
from freiburg to the top. the schauinsland offers various
walking routes with beautiful Black Forest panoramic
views....
feldbergbahn... you can reach the highest mountain
in the Black Forest (1493m above sea level) with
the feldbergbahn. As well as the unique view over the
Black Forest and the Swiss Alps you can enjoy a variety of
walking routes and places to eat....
Belchenbahn... the Belchen (1415m above sea
level) can be reached with the Belchenbahn and offers
many walking paths and panoramic views across the Black
forest, rhine valley, Vosges and the swiss Alps....
steinwasenpark... to be reached in approx. 20
minutes with the bus from the campsite. the steinwasenpark
is a wild animal park combined with a dry toboggan
run, rollercoaster and much more.....
naturpark südschwarzwald... experience
this unique natural landscape by taking advantage of the
many walking routes. Luscious meadows, rock formations
and romantic streams characterise the countryside....
Animal parks... you will find several animal parks
close by. the steinwasenpark, the Mundenhof Vivarium
in freiburg, the bird park in steinen or the Affenberg
(monkey park) in Alsace exhibit a magnitude of animals,
many also with petting zoo and the chance to feed the
animals....
europa Park rust... germany’s largest and most
famous theme park is easy to reach by bus. the many
rides and attractions offer a really fun day out, for both
children and adults....
Waterfalls... with the todtnau and triberg waterfalls
you can find two of the largest waterfalls in Germany, in
the close vicinity of the Kirchzarten Campsite....
Deutsche Uhrenstraße... furtwangen and
triberg are two central towns along the Uhrenstraße.
Here you’ll find not only the typical Black Forest cuckoo
clocks, but also various museums about clocks and the
culture and history of the Black Forest....
Vogtsbauernhöfe... live like those 100 years ago
on a Black Forest farm. You can dive into the farm life
in many lovingly decorated Black Forest farm houses in
various regions....
Moutain biking... the Southern Black Forest, especially
the area around the Dreisam river is well known
for its numerous and varied mountain bike tracks. in addition,
Kirchzarten is the venue for the traditional ULtrA
bike marathons, one of the most famous mountain bike
races in europe....
Mining museum... you find 3 mining museum in
approx. 25 km from Kirchzarten. A unique family outing
even in bad weather....
Basel... with the train you can reach the swiss cultural
city Basel in approx. one hour. Alongside various museums
and galleries the wide range of shops will tempt you to
take a look inside....
elsass... you can reach neighbouring Alsace in 45
minutes with the car. Between the Rhine and the Vosges
you will find small wine villages as well as the towns of
Colmar and strasbourg....

Arrival:
You can reach us via the B31 from
freiburg or Donaueschingen. take
the exit to Kirchzarten and follow
the bypass in the direction of
Oberried. Then take the 3rd exit
left direct to the campsite.
With the KONUS-Guest card you can
use the public transport (bus & train)
in the Black Forest free of charge.

The campsite offers 3 fully-equipped sanitary
buildings. Hot water and showers are available in
all areas and are free of charge. in each sanitary
building there are cooking facilities, a refrigerator,
washing machines and dryers available.
View from Lindenberg (st Peter) in the direction of the feldberg, schauinsland
and Kirchzarten.
8 bathrooms with sink, shower and WC are also
available for hire, for privacy and comfort.
every sanitary building is also equipped with
facilities for our guests with disabilities. for our
young guests there is a separate, child-friendly
wash room with sinks, showers and toilets.
Our young guests will find space to play and run
riot on our generously-sized playground. A tV
room, children’s’ room and a youth lounge with
tuck shop and computer games in the communal
buildings provide entertainment for rainy days.
if necessary for groups these three rooms can be
opened up to create one large room.
the team from the site shop offer you fresh
bread and bakery products daily, various camping
articles and a range of goods similar to those
found in a small supermarket. the campsite
shop is open for you from easter until october.
fully-equipped rental caravans, a holiday apartment
and a holiday studio are available for
guests without their own camping equipment.
the modern Kirchzarten open air swimming
pool “Dreisambad“ is directly next to the
campsite. the entrance fee is included in the
nightly rate for our guests. the heated open
air complex with pools, rapids, diving boards,
wide waterslide and a large sunbathing and
sport grassland is open from mid-May until
mid-september. for the children there is also
a playground and paddling pool.
the Kirchzarten campsite is located on the
southern outskirts of Kirchzarten, directly at
the gates of the Breisgau metropolis, Freiburg,
in the centre of the beautiful Dreisam valley.
the town centre, with a small pedestrian area
and shops, is only 5 minutes walk away. it is
also only 10-15minutes walk to the train station.
surrounded by the schauinsland, feldberg
and Kandel the campsite is an ideal location to
start excursions, walks and bike rides. explore
the charming and varied natural landscape
throughout your holiday.
The Kirchzarten campsite and the Black Forest
are also worth a visit in winter. Countryside
covered with snow for winter walks, cross-country
skiing tracks and ski slopes can be found in
close proximity to the campsite. the campsite
is open all year round and looks forward to your
visit.
