<strong>Points</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>interest</strong><br />

freiburg... the Black Forest metropolis, Freiburg,<br />

invites you to wander around and do some shopping. You<br />

can reach the centre in approx. 20 minutes with the train<br />

from <strong>Kirchzarten</strong>. there are many historical buildings<br />

with <strong>interest</strong>ing stories, such as the freiburg Münster....<br />

schauinslandbahn... travel with the cable car<br />

up to the local mountain, schauinsland (1284m above sea<br />

level). enjoy the wonderful view during the cable car ride<br />

from freiburg to the top. the schauinsland <strong>of</strong>fers various<br />

walking routes with beautiful Black Forest panoramic<br />

views....<br />

feldbergbahn... you can reach the highest mountain<br />

in the Black Forest (1493m above sea level) with<br />

the feldbergbahn. As well as the unique view over the<br />

Black Forest and the Swiss Alps you can enjoy a variety <strong>of</strong><br />

walking routes and places to eat....<br />

Belchenbahn... the Belchen (1415m above sea<br />

level) can be reached with the Belchenbahn and <strong>of</strong>fers<br />

many walking paths and panoramic views across the Black<br />

forest, rhine valley, Vosges and the swiss Alps....<br />

steinwasenpark... to be reached in approx. 20<br />

minutes with the bus from the campsite. the steinwasenpark<br />

is a wild animal park combined with a dry toboggan<br />

run, rollercoaster and much more.....<br />

naturpark südschwarzwald... experience<br />

this unique natural landscape by taking advantage <strong>of</strong> the<br />

many walking routes. Luscious meadows, rock formations<br />

and romantic streams characterise the countryside....<br />

Animal parks... you will find several animal parks<br />

close by. the steinwasenpark, the Mundenh<strong>of</strong> Vivarium<br />

in freiburg, the bird park in steinen or the Affenberg<br />

(monkey park) in Alsace exhibit a magnitude <strong>of</strong> animals,<br />

many also with petting zoo and the chance to feed the<br />

animals....<br />

europa Park rust... germany’s largest and most<br />

famous theme park is easy to reach by bus. the many<br />

rides and attractions <strong>of</strong>fer a really fun day out, for both<br />

children and adults....<br />

Waterfalls... with the todtnau and triberg waterfalls<br />

you can find two <strong>of</strong> the largest waterfalls in Germany, in<br />

the close vicinity <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Kirchzarten</strong> Campsite....<br />

Deutsche Uhrenstraße... furtwangen and<br />

triberg are two central towns along the Uhrenstraße.<br />

Here you’ll find not only the typical Black Forest cuckoo<br />

clocks, but also various museums about clocks and the<br />

culture and history <strong>of</strong> the Black Forest....<br />

Vogtsbauernhöfe... live like those 100 years ago<br />

on a Black Forest farm. You can dive into the farm life<br />

in many lovingly decorated Black Forest farm houses in<br />

various regions....<br />

Moutain biking... the Southern Black Forest, especially<br />

the area around the Dreisam river is well known<br />

for its numerous and varied mountain bike tracks. in addition,<br />

<strong>Kirchzarten</strong> is the venue for the traditional ULtrA<br />

bike marathons, one <strong>of</strong> the most famous mountain bike<br />

races in europe....<br />

Mining museum... you find 3 mining museum in<br />

approx. 25 km from <strong>Kirchzarten</strong>. A unique family outing<br />

even in bad weather....<br />

Basel... with the train you can reach the swiss cultural<br />

city Basel in approx. one hour. Alongside various museums<br />

and galleries the wide range <strong>of</strong> shops will tempt you to<br />

take a look inside....<br />

elsass... you can reach neighbouring Alsace in 45<br />

minutes with the car. Between the Rhine and the Vosges<br />

you will find small wine villages as well as the towns <strong>of</strong><br />

Colmar and strasbourg....<br />

You can reach us via the B31 from<br />

freiburg or Donaueschingen. take<br />

the exit to <strong>Kirchzarten</strong> and follow<br />

the bypass in the direction <strong>of</strong><br />

Oberried. Then take the 3rd exit<br />

left direct to the campsite.<br />

With the KONUS-Guest card you can<br />

use the public transport (bus & train)<br />

in the Black Forest free <strong>of</strong> charge.<br />

The campsite <strong>of</strong>fers 3 fully-equipped sanitary<br />

buildings. Hot water and showers are available in<br />

all areas and are free <strong>of</strong> charge. in each sanitary<br />

building there are cooking facilities, a refrigerator,<br />

washing machines and dryers available.<br />

8 bathrooms with sink, shower and WC are also<br />

available for hire, for privacy and comfort.<br />

every sanitary building is also equipped with<br />

facilities for our guests with disabilities. for our<br />

young guests there is a separate, child-friendly<br />

wash room with sinks, showers and toilets.<br />

Our young guests will find space to play and run<br />

riot on our generously-sized playground. A tV<br />

room, children’s’ room and a youth lounge with<br />

tuck shop and computer games in the communal<br />

buildings provide entertainment for rainy days.<br />

if necessary for groups these three rooms can be<br />

opened up to create one large room.<br />

the team from the site shop <strong>of</strong>fer you fresh<br />

bread and bakery products daily, various camping<br />

articles and a range <strong>of</strong> goods similar to those<br />

found in a small supermarket. the campsite<br />

shop is open for you from easter until october.<br />

fully-equipped rental caravans, a holiday apartment<br />

and a holiday studio are available for<br />

guests without their own camping equipment.<br />

the modern <strong>Kirchzarten</strong> open air swimming<br />

pool “Dreisambad“ is directly next to the<br />

campsite. the entrance fee is included in the<br />

nightly rate for our guests. the heated open<br />

air complex with pools, rapids, diving boards,<br />

wide waterslide and a large sunbathing and<br />

sport grassland is open from mid-May until<br />

mid-september. for the children there is also<br />

a playground and paddling pool.<br />

the <strong>Kirchzarten</strong> campsite is located on the<br />

southern outskirts <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kirchzarten</strong>, directly at<br />

the gates <strong>of</strong> the Breisgau metropolis, Freiburg,<br />

in the centre <strong>of</strong> the beautiful Dreisam valley.<br />

the town centre, with a small pedestrian area<br />

and shops, is only 5 minutes walk away. it is<br />

also only 10-15minutes walk to the train station.<br />

surrounded by the schauinsland, feldberg<br />

and Kandel the campsite is an ideal location to<br />

start excursions, walks and bike rides. explore<br />

the charming and varied natural landscape<br />

throughout your holiday.<br />

The <strong>Kirchzarten</strong> campsite and the Black Forest<br />

are also worth a visit in winter. Countryside<br />

covered with snow for winter walks, cross-country<br />

skiing tracks and ski slopes can be found in<br />

close proximity to the campsite. the campsite<br />

is open all year round and looks forward to your<br />

visit.<br />
