This year’s eventwill be bigger than ever. Over 7000 people are expected to descend onSonterra on April 25 th . The golf courses will be closed that day and therange will close at noon on the 24 th then re-open the 26 th . Make plansto attend! Special pricing for members when tickets are purchased thruthe club.The SWGA is in full swing with events each Wednesday. If you arenew to the club or have not found your group yet, come join us onWednesdays. The group is very welcoming and only a few times a yearis it all about competition.If 18 holes proves too much, we also have our nine holers, headed byKate Rising that play on Thursdays! COME ON LADIES, WHATARE YOU WAITING FOR!One of the favorite MGA events of the year was postponed due torain, yes rain! The member-member match play will be rescheduled forJuly 14-15. Keep your partner or get a new one. Sign up early this onewill fill!!GOLF CART STICKERS!ALL GOLF CARTS DRIVEN ON PROPERTY MUST HAVE ANEW STICKER. Beginning May 1, we will issue stickers for all carts.Members must register carts with the golf shop and show proof ofinsurance and residence. Even those cars used to travel back and forthto fitness or tennis must be stickered. A three tiered program will beset up that begins with a warning then a fine and then loss of cartprivileges. Different colored stickers will be issued for trail fees and forgolf trail fees. Children under 16 or without a valid driver’slicense may not at any time drive a golf cart private or clubowned. This is a large insurance liability for the club and weappreciate your understanding.

This project will take some time since the area is solarge, but we are seeing the results daily. Gary and his crew are out here under the lights at6am to work so as to disrupt as little as possible member play—we really appreciate theirefforts.Tennis CornerCHANGE IN COURT RESERVATIONTIME SLOTS-We have already had in place since March 2010 court reservationblocks of 6 to 8 PM or 8 to 10 PM. This has helped doubleour court usage in the evenings. We now feel it necessary todo the same in the mornings due to high usage. Due to leagues,lessons, team practices, play days, and member use we will implementthe new policy beginning April 1 st . The new policy willconsist of reservation blocks of 8 to 10 AM, 9 to 11 AM or 10to 12 noon. Both morning and evening changes will remain thesame throughout the year.COURT RESURFACING-We are scheduled to have some of our courts resurfacedimmediately following the Member/Guest Tournament. If allgoes as planned (weather permitting) we will have a transitionfrom all green to US Open blue with green. Stay tuned formore information.GRAND SLAM MEMBER/GUESTTENNIS TOURNAMENT–MAY 4-6Registration begins Monday April 2 nd at 8am -- get that guestlined up.CLUB DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP –MAY 7-11Here is your chance to occupy one of those Club Champions’parking spaces and have your name on the plaque.
