Lightis provided by oil lamps and candles,there’s no electricity in the tentand for a hot shower you need to goto the shower block. Farm shops selllocal produce and coffee beans whichcan be ground on the tent grinder.Unlike the usual camping experiencewhen you have to bring loads of kit,the tents are fully equipped, allowingpeople to come on holiday with justclothes and wellies.The aim of the experience is toslow people down, reconnect themwith nature and allow simple pleasures,such as reading aloud bycandlelight, preparing meals onstoves and chatting around fires. Forfarmers, Feather Down Farms providesa much needed extra incomestream and means they can continuemaintaining the landscape.There are 21 farms across the UK,from Cornwall to Scotland and theLake District to Suffolk. In Holland,where the company is known asBoerenbed, there are 12 farms. Francehas five farms under the name Un Litau Pré.
