Beat the Heat (entering 1st-6th grade)Get those swimsuits ready and lose the excuse that it’s “too hot outside.” Beat the Heat camp will provide numerous water activitiesthroughout each day. From swimming and diving at LHP’s Aquatic facility to games involving sprinklers, Slip ‘n Slides, and waterballoons, each day is sure to make a big splash with your child. We’ll even venture out to various splash pads around town with a stopor two at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. Students will be provided with a step-by-step guide ofhow to improve self-image, build friendships, resist peer pressure, achieve their goals, get along with their parents, and much more.Students will complete self-inventories to discover their own leadership qualities and also write a personal mission statement. Theclass will then use the skills and leadership models they have learned to volunteer at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission.
