Enrichment Courses: Lower, Middle and Upper <strong>School</strong>Enriching opportunities for students of all ages are offered during Summer Spectacular. Courses include academic contentareas as well as the fine arts, community service, culinary arts, and robotics. Join your friends for week-long classes designed toenrich your knowledge in the areas of your interests.9th Grade Study Skills (entering 9th grade)This course will prepare incoming ninth graders for the academic challenges of Upper <strong>School</strong> and will help ensure a successfultransition. Students will discuss and practice effective note taking skills, organization strategies, test taking strategies, and timemanagement skills. Within a small group setting, students will be mentored in their understanding and application of these skillswhile building independence and self-reliance. Divefor treasure while swimming in <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>’s “clear, blue sea.” We’ll even make model pirate ships to sail. Using a story from the American Girl® series,we will learn about friendship and history. We will learn about event planning as we prepare for a special party Thursday andpajama party Friday. This class is a must for anyone who is ready to become an expertbabysitter! In order to provide adequate instructional time for CPR, the Thursday classes will end at 5:00.
