68,EV. J. MACMILLAN, B.A.,B.D., Presbyterian Clergyman,Halifax, N. S., was bornNovember 27th, 1842, at Scotch Hill,Pictou County, N.S. His parents wereDuncan and Mary (Cameron) MacMillan.His father was connected withSt. Andrew's Church, at Pictou, as anelder. Rev. George MacMillan, abrother, is located at Malpecque, P.E.I.Mr. MacMillan began his education inthe <strong>com</strong>mon schools, of Pictou County.He entered Queen's College, Kingston,Ont., in 1859, and graduated in 1862,as B.A., and in 1865, as B.D. He waslicensed to preach at Ottawa, in June,1865, and was ordained at Little River,Musquodoboit, Halifax County, N.S.,March 26th, 1866. He was appointed toSt. Paul's Church, Truro, N.S., November28th, 1872, and translated toChalmer's Church, Halifax, April 29th,1884. He has been a member of theHome Mission Committee (EasternSection) since the union, and convenersince 1882. He is also convener of thePresbytery of Halifax Committee onSabbath schools, and a governor ofDalhousie College, at Halifax. He wasmarried 27th July, 1868, to Miss Elizabeth,daughter of Charles E. Wiswell, ofHalifax. He has three daughters living.
