6oPETER M. MORRISON,,EV.agent of the PresbyterianChurch in Canada, at Halifax,N.S., was born July 25th, 1840, atSt. James, N.B. His parents were Peterand Jane (McAskill) Morrison. The formercame from Edinburgh, about 1820,and took an active part in Church andpolitical work. Mr. Morrison waseducated at the <strong>com</strong>mon schools, theSt. Andrew's Academy, and at thePresbyterian College, Halifax. He wasordained Sept., 1865, and took chargeof the congregation of St. Stephen, N.B.In 1867, he removed to Bridgewater,N.S., and in 1877 went to Dartmouth,and remained until November, 1886,when he was called by the Synod of theMaritime Provinces, to be the agent ofthe eastern section of the PresbyterianChurch in Canada. He is treasurerfor all the missionary funds, and secretaryof several missionaryHe <strong>com</strong>mittees.was clerk of the Presbytery of St.Stephen, N.B., from 1865 to 1867, andof that of Lnnenburg and Yarmouth,from 1869 to 1877, also clerk of theSynod of the Maritime Provinces, from1877 to 1886. He was married, Nov.29th, 1865, to Miss Kate McGeachy,of St. John, N.B., by whom he has fivesons and five daughters.
