457CT EO. WENTWORTH ADAMS,* Undertaker and Embalnier,Fredericton, N. B., was born in thatcity, July 22nd, 1865. He is the sonof Jackson Adams, who carried on theundertaking business there for manyyears. Mr. Adams was educated in thepublic schools of his native city, andgraduated from the Grammar schoolwith first-class honors in 1881, afterwhich he entered the dry goods business,in which he continued for sometime. In 1889, the death of Mr.Adams, sen., took place, and it wasfrom this time that our subject connectedhimself with the business, whichwas continued by the sons of the deceased,under the firm name of AdamsBros. In 1893, he decided to open upon his own account, and prior to establishinghimself, took a thorough coursein the United States College of Embalming,New York city, after which hespent some weeks in Boston, gaining apractical insight into the latest methodsand ideas of undertaking. On his returnto Fredericton, he opened up a newand extensive establishment at theupper end of Queen St., where he hasbuilt up a first-class trade. In religion,he is a Presbyterian, and a member ofthe K. of P. and Orange Order.
