LEX. ROBINSON, B.A.,principal,Hall School, Vancouver,B.C., was born February24th, 1863, at St John, N.B. His parentswere James and Jane (Magee) Robinson,both North of Ireland Presbyterians.Mr. Robinson received hiseducation in the Sussex Public School,Fredericton Normal School, PictouAcademy, and Dalhousie College, graduatingfrom the latter in 1886. Hethen took charge of the SuperiorSchool of Campbellton, N.B., conductingit successfully for three years. InJanuary, 1890, he was appointed principalof the Vancouver, B.C., publicschools, and in July 1891, was promotedto his present position. From the timehe took charge in Vancouver, untilthis time (1893) the teaching staff hasbeen increased from 17 to 40. At theNormal School, he carried off the LomeSilver ,Medal, for proficiency in professionalwork, and was the thirdman who took first-class honors in thehistory of Dalhousie College, winningthe Lansdowne gold medal. In politics,he is a conservative, and in religion aPresbyterian.He was married, MarchI4th, 1892, to Miss Emma Hay, daughterof J. M. Hay, Esq., of Amherst, N.S.,by whom he has one daughter.
