427AINSLIEBRAITH-WAITE, M. D., Edmonton,Alberta, was born February1 6th, 1862, in Yorkshire, Eng. Hisparents were Rev. Win. and L,. E.Braithwaite. He was educated at King'sSchool, Bruton, Somerset Westward,Devon., and Victoria College, Jersey.After leaving school, he entered King'sCollege Hospital, London, Eng., wherehe remained until January, 1884. Hecame to Canada in March of that year,joined the North-West Mounted Police,served for eight years, sent to King'sCollege for certificates in 1889, whichhe sent to Manitoba University, andafter one course, was admitted to examinations.During his last threemonths at Winnipeg General Hospital,he was resident assistant, but leave expiring,had to return to the Police, andfor two years more did the duties of asurgeon, which he left in April, 1892,and began to practice in Edmonton,where he still remains and enjoys alarge and profitable connection. Dr.Braithwaite is health officer for Edmonton,and during 1892, for the district ofEdmonton. In religion, he is an Episcopalian.He was married, November30th, 1892, to J. E. Anderson, daughterof T. A. Anderson, Esq.
