His parentswere the late Dr. Francis Young,M.A., and Charlotte Mongan, nativesof County Cork, Ireland. Mr. Youngwas educated at the Bedford Grammarschools, in Bedfordshire, England. In1885, he came to America, and settledat Souris, Man., where he farmed fortwo years, after which he engaged withR. B. Kirchhoffer, and in 1890, tookover Mr. Kirchhoffer's business, andhas succeeded in working up a large-trade in his town and the country surrounding,and is agent for numerousestates. He represents the leading insurancecompanies on the continent,and the business done by him is highlysatisfactory in every way. In religion,Mr. Young is a member of the Churchof England. He also belongs to theMasonic Order, being Master of LodgeNo. 27, also Chief of the Canadian Orderof Foresters, at Souris. In politics,he is a Conservative. He possessesconsiderable musical talent, and was instrumentalin organizing the celebratedSouris Band in 1890, and has been theleader of the same since the beginning.
