OF- 317,EV. JOHN CHARL-TON BERRIE, MethodistMinister,Hillsboro, Albert County,New Brunswick, was bornat Tarn worth, Warwickshire,England, December25th, 1840. He is the secondson of Charles JamesBerrie, Analytical Chemist,and Sarah Russell, daughterof John Howitt, of LongEaton, Derbyshire. Hisgreat grandmother was asister of the Earl of Kilmarnock,the family namebeing originally de Berri,of French origin. Mr. Berriereceived his early educationat Tainworth andHorlock's Academy, Reading,Berkshire, on leavingwhich he was apprenticedto Phythian & Co., grocersof the Strand, London,afterwards he was in theemploy of Elizabeth Lazenby,Italian Warehousemen,then he was manager forWace & Co., and then juniorpartner of the firm ofJohn Howgate & Co., WestbourneGrove. He studied under theS. L., daughter of Rev. A. Macintyre,direction of the Rev. T. M. Albrighton, M.A., and grand daughter of a formerof London. He was a local preacheron the Great Queen Street and Attorney-General of Prince Edward Island.His family consists of one son andBayswatercircuits, and in October 1871, one daughter. Mr. Macintyre was inwas one of the twelve that came to chargeAmerica. He of St. James Church, Charlottetown,P.E.I., when he married. Mr.was stationed in Summersideand Souris, P.E.I., where his Berriehealth brokebelongs to the I.O.O.F., I.O.F.,down, and he had to undergoa serious operation. On recover-Grand Chaplain of the Order for theS.O.T. and Good Templars, beinging his health he was stationed at Little Province. He is also a freeman of theYork, Murray Harbour and Montague city of London, in the Goldsmith's Company.He is a man of much force andP.E.I., then Shediac, Jacksonville, Sussex,Milltown, and then at his present power his services are;very acceptablecharge, Hillsboro, N.B. Mr. Berrie andwas married, in May 1876, to Hannah helpful, and much is yet expectedfrom him.
