CA.NADA. 283HUGH McLEOD, A.M.,iEV.gue, Edinburgh, and Logie Easter,D. D., Sydney, C. B., was Ross-shire. He came to Canada in 1850,born, April 23rd, 1803, at and was inducted at Mira, C.B., whereRhitongue, Sntherlandshire, Scotland. he remained until he retired. He receivedthe degree of D.D. in 1854, fromHis parents were George and BarbaraMcLeod. Dr. McLeod was educated the University of Indiana, U.S. Dr.at King's College, Aberdeen, and The McLeod was elected Moderator of Presbytery,twenty times, Moderator ofHall, Edinburgh. The degree of M.A.was conferred on him in 1826, by King'sCollege and University Aberdeen. HeSynod, four times, and Moderator ofGeneral Assembly, once. He was married,April 6th, 1841, to Catherine Ross,was licensed in 1831, and ordained twoyears later, by the Presbytery of Tongue. only daughterHe of Rev. Hugh Ross, ofvisited Canada and the United States, Fearn, Ross-shire. Dr. McLeod has1845, as deputy of the Free Church, had a family of eleven children, six ofand again in 1848. His pastoral chargeshave been Melness, parish of Ton-whom are now living, and are occupyingvarious positions of trust in the country.
