JAMES HOSKIN, Pastorr^ Methodist 1877, he entered the ministry on probation,was ordained at Port HopeChurch, Carman,"v^) Man., was born September Bible Christian Conference, in 1882,i4th, 1846, in Hastings County, Out. and sent asHis parents were missionary to Souris City,James and Elizabeth Man. On the union of the Methodist(Tuinmon) Hoskin, natives of England. churches in 1884, he went to Otona.Mr. Hoskin was educated in the public (now Balder), Man., where he ministeredsuccessfully for three years. Heschools, and by private study, andspent his early life on his father's farm. was afterwards three years at Thornhill,When aged twenty-five, he was converted,and united with the Bible Christian circuit, and was appointed to hisMan., and three years on the RolandBody. He assisted in Sabbath-School present charge in June, 1893. He is awork for some time, became a local member of the I.O.G.T., and in politics,preacher, and two years later went to a Conservative. He was married, JulyPeterboro, and preached under the 3rd, 1888, to Miss Mary M., daughterchairman of the district. In June, of Thos. Pearce, Thornhill, Manitoba.
