224 ORTX/ILLIAM McCULLY, Postmasr*ter, Truro, Nova Scotia, wasborn in that place, November 9th, 1826.He is the son of William McCully andElizabeth Arnold, both born in ColchesterCounty, Township of Onslow, inthe same house, having no relation toeach other, however, and with but twoyears intervening. Mr. McCully receivedhis education at Truro Academy.The first part of his life was engagedin farming, and in February, 1871, hereceived the appointment of Postmasterof Truro, which position he now holdswith much satisfaction to the <strong>com</strong>mu-He has had the honor of receiv-nity.ing, from Ottawa, the high <strong>com</strong>plimentof having the best regulated and bestconducted office in Eastern Canada.He is a man of very thorough businesshas a keen grasp of detail, andhabits,is possessed of the desirable faculty ofbeing able to address himself to a multiplicityof duties, with correctness anddespatch, which renders his service soacceptable to the public. In religion,he belongs to the Presbyterian Church.On the twenty-ninth of October, 1855,he was married, to Miss Martha G.Wilson, daughter of James Wilson,Esq. His family consists of fivechildren.
