208 OR4 TENRY GLYNNE FIENNES-^jH CLINTON, Clerk in HolyvS> Orders, Incumbent of St.James' Church, Vancouver, B.C., whoseportrait appears on this page, was bornin Nottinghamshire, England, in 1854.His parents are Henry and CatharineFiennes-Clinton. His father, the Rev.Henry Fiennes-Clinton, is the rectorof Cromwell, Nottinghamshire, and heis also Rural Dean. Mr. Clintonreceived his education at Keble College,Oxford University, graduating B.A.in 1877. He had a successful educationalcourse and graduated withdistinction. He was ordained to theorder of deacon in 1878, and that ofpriest in 1880, both ordinationsconducted beingby the Bishop of Salisbury.He held the office of vice-principal ofthe Mission House, Warminster, dioceseof Salisbury, from 1878 to 1881,and subsequently was appointed assistantcurate of St. Mary Magdalen's,Bradford, where he remained from 1881to 1885. Coming to Canada in 1885,he became the rector of St. James'Church, at Granville, (now Vancouver),where he has since remained. He isan able preacher and a faithful pastor,and ishighly esteemed. Mr. Clintoniswell known on the cricket field.
