2OOOK CANADA.HAGEL, Q.C., Winnipeg,Man.,was born Feb. 2Oth, 1846,in Oxford County, Ontario.His parents were Samuel and ElizaAnn (Tapley) Hagel, whose four grandparents were U. E. Loyalists. Mr.Hagel was educated at the Ingersolland Woodstock Grammar schools, afterwhich he was articled to Warren Tot-of Woodstock. He concludedwas a partner of the late N. GordonBigelow, M.P.P., and afterwards seniorpartner with Messrs. Murdoch & Schoff.In 1881, he removed to Winnipeg, andbecame the head of the firm of Hagel,Henderson & Delahaye. Afterwardshe was senior member of the firm ofHagel, Davis & Gilniour, and in 1884,he was created Q.C. He is a member often, Q.C., the A.F. & A.M., and other societies,his legal studies with Mr. (afterwards and in politics, a staunch Conservative.Chief Justice) Harrison and Honorable In religion, he is an Episcopalian, andSenator O'Donolme. Mr. Hagel was has been lay delegate to the Synod. Incalled to the Bar in Michaelmas Term 1870, he was married to Susan Adele,of 1873, and entered upon his profession second daughter of David Summers,in Toronto, where, for several years, he Esq., of Middlesex County, Ont.
