i6oMKNLFRED EDWIN OULTON,Judge of Probate, Dorchester,N.B., was born March 2nd,1845, at Jolicare, Westmoreland County,N.B. He is the son of ThomasEdwin Oulton, merchant, of the Countyof Westmoreland, and grandson ofMajor Oulton, whose ancestors came tothis country from Yorkshire, England.He graduated from the Sackville Academy,studied law in the office of A. L.Palmer, now Judge in Equity was made;attorney in June, 1867, and barrister inJune, 1868. He then entered into partnershipwith Mr. Palmer, Judge Oultonconducting the business in Dorchester,and Mr. Palmer in St. John, until 1879,when the partnership was dissolved.Judge Oulton is secretary of the Municipalityof Westmoreland, and has beensince its inauguration in June, 1877.He was appointed Judge of Probate in1883, succeeding E. B. Chandler whowas then appointed Lieutenant-Governorof New Brunswick. He wasmarried, June, 1883, to Katherine D.,daughter of the late G. B. Esterbrook,of Sackville, N.B. His family consistsof five children. He is a member ofthe Masonic Body, Worshipful Masterof Sussex, No. 4, and member of RoyalArch Knight Templars of St. John.
