,EV. DONALD J. SUMMERS,L.D., Prospect, Nova Scotia,was born May iQth, 1867,at Halifax, N.S. His parents areThomas and Catherine (McLeod) Summers,who are at present residing inHalifax. Father Summers receivedhis education in the public schools,after which he pursued his classicalcourse at St. Mary's College, Halifax,and his theological and philosophicalcourses at Laval University, Quebec.He was ordained priest, NovemberHalifax, and will shortly take chargeof the parish at Prospect, N.S. FatherSummers isadmirably qualified byeducation, refinement and adaptability,for the office of the priesthood, and hasbrought to bear on his life work, thatDr. Murphy, of St. Mary's Cathedral,energy and consecration, so necessaryto the fulfilment of a successful ministry.For a man of his years andexperience, he has already receivedmarked notice at the hands of hischurch, and bids fair, when more maturein years, to have an eminentSt. Mary's Cathedral, and at the present24th, 1889, by Archbishop O'Brien, at(1893) occupies the position next position in the career upon which heto has entered.
