The Hawai’i Convention Center combines the modern requirementsof a state-of-the-art meeting facility with the beauty, comfortand culture that are uniquely Hawai’i. Soaring forms and breathtakingspace call to mind tropical palm trees and Polynesian sailing canoes.The design of the glass-front center represents the unique culture ofHawai’i, with its bold architecture, $2 million Hawaiian art collection,and features such as a rooftop tropical garden, glass-encased meetingrooms and outdoor function spaces lined with giant palm trees. AllEMC <strong>2007</strong> workshops, tutorials, technical sessions and the exhibitionwill be held at the Hawai’i Convention Center, along with many committeemeetings. The Ala Moana Hotel isjust a short walk away.Demonstrations and Experiments: Now in Its 15th Consecutive Year!The EMC <strong>2007</strong> Technical Program also includes hands on demonstrationsand experiments. Several software and hardware demonstrationswill be scheduled in the exhibit hall during exhibit hours at theHawai’i Convention Center over July 10-12. The hardware experimentsare devoted to demonstrating important EMC concepts througha series of interactive experiments. The experiments cover a wide rangeof electromagnetic effects. This year’s experiments will include measurementautomation, the use of RF field probes, reverberation chambertechniques, TEM cells, ESD and time domain techniques. In the softwaredemonstrations, fundamental EMC modeling approaches andsimulation methods are illustrated through a series of interactive computerdemonstrations. Various computational electromagnetic (CEM)modeling techniques will be demonstrated illustrating their applicationto both well defined canonical-type problems and real world EMCproblems in order to show specifically how these techniques can beapplied. The objective of the breakfast is to review planning for theindividual session(s) as well as allow speakers and session chairs to get toknow each other. All speakers and session chairs are required to attendthe breakfast on the day of their presentation to ensure a seamless transitionof speakers, correct pronunciation of presenter names, correct bioinformation is relayed, and coaching on the question and answer periodis provided, thus resulting in a professional, well-organized session.Exhibitors BreakfastAll exhibitors are invited to attend this annual breakfast buffet onThursday, July 12 from 7:00am to 8:00am at the Hawai’i ConventionCenter. Chaired by Barry Wallen, the EMC Society VP forConferences, this breakfast provides a forum for exhibitors and theSociety to exchange best practices and ideas for improving theexhibitor experience at the annual Symposium.
