This <strong>symposium</strong> is yourgateway to the emerging and dynamic markets in the Pacific Rim.We are expecting record attendance at this <strong>symposium</strong> for several reasons:• The technical program is targeting engineers new to EMC in thePacific Rim where much EMC design work has in recent years beenoff-shored. They need the level of education that our <strong>symposium</strong>provides, the access to our industry experts, and the products andservices our exhibitors’ offer.• The technical program features a record number of papers, specialsessions, workshops, and tutorials. This response by authors hasexceeded our expectations!• It’s the 50th anniversary of the founding of the EMC Society; manywill want to attend to join in the unique celebrations planned.• The vacation destination appeals to engineers and their families whowill want to combine business and pleasure.• Hawai’i is currently not that expensive, relatively speaking, for non-UScitizens whose currency goes further than US dollars these days. With ourassistance in travel planning and obtaining visas, travel to Hawai’i hasnever been easier or more affordable for European and Asian engineers.• We’ve learned the tools to effectively cross-market EMC Societytechnical activity within its related IEEE Societies, such asMicrowave Theory and Techniques, Vehicular Technology,Instrumentation and Measurements, Antennas and Propagation, andthe like. We will reach new engineers who have a common interestin EMC and promote their attendance at our <strong>symposium</strong>Join us in Hawai’i where “East Meets West” for Education,Networking and Celebration.
