44 CHAPTER 3: FILING ITEMS4. Select the buttons to find just the first, or all items that have thattext. Click Find.In the SimpleSearch dialog box, you can:• Click the Options tab to display several options for usingSimpleSearch, including whether you want PaperPort to match theexact phrase you’re looking for or to find text that closely matches.You can also indicate whether you want to search all folders, thecurrent folder, or the current folder and its subfolders.• Click the Update SimpleSearch button to read any items that haven’tbeen read yet. This adds the items’ text to the SimpleSearch database(which is similar to the index of this guide).You can add specific items to the SimpleSearch database. Right-click anitem, and then choose Add to SimpleSearch from the shortcut menu.
USING SIMPLESEARCH TO FIND AN ITEM 45This is particularly useful when you’ve scanned a number of items andfiled them in a new folder. Right-click the folder and PaperPort beginsadding the items’ content to the SimpleSearch database.Note: SimpleSearch works in the background, which means thatPaperPort periodically indexes items’ textual content even while you’reworking on other tasks.For more information about SimpleSearch and using SummaryInformation in a search, see the PaperPort Help.
