Rural deliveryRural delivery is not available in all areas and not automatic. You must apply for rural delivery by filling in a RuralDelivery Service Agreement, which also sets out the terms and conditions applying to this service. The Rural DeliveryService Agreement is available from your local <strong>Post</strong>Shop.Mailbox specifications for Rural Delivery differ from the urban mailbox specifications outlined above. Therecommended minimum dimensions for a rural mailbox are:mail compartment: 270mm wide, 400mm deep, 270mm highmail slot: 250mm wide, 30mm high.For full details, refer to our website, www.nzpost.co.nz or the brochure Joining and using Rural <strong>Post</strong>’s services(ADV034).Counter deliveryYou may arrange for items sent via our postal network to be held at a <strong>Post</strong>Shop or <strong>Post</strong>Centre for collection. Itemsaddressed only to a town are treated as addresses for Counter delivery.Counter delivery is a short term delivery option and will only be provided to you for a maximum period of 3 months. Wemay refuse or terminate Counter delivery if other delivery services, such as <strong>Post</strong>ie delivery, Rural delivery or POBox/Private Bag delivery, are available to you. We may also terminate the Counter delivery service by giving you 30days' notice.Counter delivery items will be held for 30 days before being returned to sender unless:the sender has requested a shorter period of time;the item is a Parcel<strong>Post</strong>, Parcel<strong>Post</strong> Fast, Parcel<strong>Post</strong> Tracked, Parcel<strong>Post</strong> Tracked Zonal or Registered<strong>Post</strong>item - these items are returned to sender after 14 days; oryou have been receiving the Counter delivery service for longer than 3 months or we have given you noticethat the service is being terminated and that notice period has expired - these items will be immediatelyreturned to sender.You must present suitable identification when collecting items over the counter.ParcelPodRefer to www.nzpost.co.nz/parcelpod or call 0800 501 501 for details about our ParcelPod parcel delivery service andthe terms and conditions that apply.Redirection and Hold servicesAsk at your local <strong>Post</strong>Shop or call 0800 501 501 for details about these services and the terms and conditions thatapply.<strong>Post</strong>e RestanteIf you are an overseas visitor you may arrange for items addressed to you to be held at selected <strong>Post</strong>Shop stores forcollection (refer to our website at www.nzpost.co.nz/posterestante for a list of stores where the <strong>Post</strong>e Restante serviceis available). <strong>Post</strong>e Restante mail is held for two months before being returned to sender.The <strong>Post</strong>e Restante service allows you to:receive mail and parcelsleave messages for people you wish to contactredirect mail within <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> (mail cannot be redirected to a hotel, motel, motor camp, hostel or boardinghouse).Mail addressed to a <strong>Post</strong>e Restante location must include:the addressee’s full namethe words “<strong>Post</strong>e Restante”the town or city of the <strong>Post</strong>e Restante locationthe words “<strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong>”a return address.Fees apply to <strong>Post</strong>e Restante services. For details, refer to our website at www.nzpost.co.nz/posterestante, ask at a<strong>Post</strong>Shop that accepts <strong>Post</strong>e Restante mail or call our Customer Service Centre on 0800 501 501. Parcels held at<strong>Post</strong>e Restante must have maximum dimensions no larger than those allowed for the Parcel<strong>Post</strong> service: length 1.5m,length + girth 2.5m, volume (length (m) x thickness (m) x height (m)) 0.125m³. The maximum weight for this service is25kg actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater.You must present suitable identification when collecting <strong>Post</strong>e Restante items.<strong>Post</strong>ing keysThis service is only available for posting within <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong>.
