Creating debug hardware target configurations5.32 Configuring a target processor for virtual E<strong>the</strong>rnetFor applications on your target to communicate over your network, you must configure virtualE<strong>the</strong>rnet on <strong>the</strong> target processor. This is required if <strong>the</strong> target does not have its own E<strong>the</strong>rnethardware, or if its drivers have not yet been written.NoteThe network settings are supported only on <strong>ARM</strong>7, <strong>ARM</strong>9, <strong>ARM</strong>11, and <strong>ARM</strong> SecurCoreprocessors using JTAG. They are not supported on CoreSight systems.To configure virtual E<strong>the</strong>rnet for a target processor:1. Open <strong>the</strong> <strong>Debug</strong> <strong>Hardware</strong> Config utility.2. Ei<strong>the</strong>r:• connect to and configure a debug hardware connection to create a new debughardware configuration file• open an existing debug hardware configuration file.3. Connect to <strong>the</strong> required debug hardware unit.4. Select <strong>the</strong> Devices node in <strong>the</strong> tree diagram.5. Select <strong>the</strong> processor that want to configured for virtual E<strong>the</strong>rnet.6. Set <strong>the</strong> network settings as required.
