Creating debug hardware target configurations5.27 Adding new platforms<strong>Debug</strong> <strong>Hardware</strong> Config is preconfigured to support a number of platforms, but you can addsupport for more platforms by creating your own platform files. You can also provide a nameand <strong>the</strong> manufacturer details for <strong>the</strong> new platform.To create a new configuration file, you must:1. Configure a scan chain for <strong>the</strong> new platform.2. Make any changes to <strong>the</strong> device settings that are required.3. Make any changes to <strong>the</strong> advanced settings that are required.4. Make any changes to <strong>the</strong> trace settings that are required.5. Specify a new platform name and its manufacturer in <strong>the</strong> Export As Platform dialog box.To do this, select Export platform file... from <strong>the</strong> File menu.6. In <strong>the</strong> Export As Platform dialog box, enter <strong>the</strong> new name and manufacturer details of <strong>the</strong>platform in <strong>the</strong> Board Name and Manufacturer fields, respectively. The followingfigure shows an example:Figure 5-16 Export As platform dialog boxThe name and manufacturer details of <strong>the</strong> platform are used to name <strong>the</strong> new platformfiles, and are displayed in <strong>the</strong> Select Platform dialog box for <strong>the</strong> new platform.On Windows, <strong>the</strong> platformFiles directory, shown in this figure, is located in MyDocuments\<strong>ARM</strong>\rvconfig\platformFiles.On Linux, it is located in ~/.rvconfig/platformFiles.7.
